Love Starts At Home

In our fight to be accepted and respected in the world we need to start doing our parts as well. Far too many of the LBGT community takes serious offense when we are discrimated against in the world, when many of us do this to our own kind.

It is time to end the LBGT hate and discrimination first only with unity will we even be accepted as a valid people. This is a struggle that can not be won by a handful of people but as a community.

How can we possibly enact any change when many of our attitudes toward each other are so nasty. Gay hating gays, trannies hating trannie, trannies hating lesbians and trannies hating gays. This is a bad case of pots calling kettles black.

When so many people are being killed and beaten for who they are is it really so important who is prettier, who has the most designer labels, who slept with whom, who has the biggest body parts? The same people who will find issue with someone discriminating against them for their sexuality will in turn go to a club or so other place and bash another member of thier same community. Who are you to decide who is fit to be. We were are created in love by a greater being and the very fact of our births makes us valid humans. No one can sit here on this planet and decide who deserves to be.

So in our fight to get our acceptance and respect in the world remember that fight starts at home. First with you changing your attitude, then change your community and finally change your world.  It's quite hypocritical to fight for the rights of LBGT  communities if you spend the majority of your day tearing down your brothers and sisters.

There are many people in the world that I care not to be around but I can't decide that they don't have a right to exist. One scholar said those who constantly find fault in others suffer greatly from low self esteem.  It's easy to point out the fault in others then you won't have to deal with the shit in your own life.

Everthing you want to change in the world you need to do a self assessment first and make sure you are living up to those very same standards.  Love self first and it will be easier to love others.  If we wish to be seen as more than a bunch of crazed fanatics forcing our lifestyle upon people we need to start acting like people.

Stop feeding fear with hate. Hate begets hate. Educate let them see that you too are a person. Most people's education of our community is from television, movies, talk shows and other forms of media that don't portray us in the best light.  You fight ignorance with intellegence.

This week I just want to encourage you to not be a Pot calling a Kettle black.  How can you want change when you yourself haven't changed.

Acceptance and Tolerance begins at home until you can love those like you, you will never get the world to accept and tolerate you.

I leave  you in love,

Chanel Winn

Humans behave Humanely

Humans behave Humanely

In this piece I will give a little background into the meaning of hate and the history of hate. First Webster's definition of HATE

Main Entry: 1hate
Pronunciation: \'hat\
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English hete; akin to Old High German haz hate, Greek kedos care
Date: before 12th century
1 a: intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b: extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing <had a great hate of hard work>
2: an object of hatred <a generation whose finest hate had been big business — F. L. Paxson>

Second their definition of HATE CRIME

Main Entry: hate crime
Function: noun
Date: 1984
: any of various crimes (as assault or defacement of property) when motivated by hostility to the victim as a member of a group (as one based on color, creed, gender, or sexual orientation)

What struck me most about the definition of hate is hostility usually deriving from fear, anger or sense of injury, thus in essence saying hate is and emotion or feeling.

Therefore making a hate crime the action upon that emotion.  I titled this piece Humans Behave Humanely for this specific reason.  As enlightened thinking beings not given to animalistic behavior or primal urges we as people should be able to control they actions that our emotions may cause.

I will touch on a few bases today first to the LBGT that have experienced hate crimes. Take back the power that your abuser has stolen. You don't have to retaliate violently. Hate Crimes in most states are on the records. Report all incidents of violence. If you go to the links section here you will find some very helpful information.  No one has to physically hit you to be investigated this goes up to and includes phone calls, name calling, destruction of property and physical or sexual abuse. Document with the local police and also with the HRC or any other local LBGT agency. Links can be found here on the site.

Next are the LBGT that live an open life and have no discrimination concerns why does it matter to you. It matters to you because when one suffers we all suffer. You will never experience true freedom until all like you share in the same peace that you do. It's your moral obligation and duty to care. You are only living the life you live cause of those before you that have paved the way and/or a good support system around you.

Next to the  heterosexual people that think that this issue means nothing to you. Again I say humans behave humanely. You don't have to be a member of a community to find compassion for the afflicted. It was the same its them not me attitude that allowed the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, Slavery in America, the Holocaust, the Killing Fields in Cambodia and many other atrocoties that are currently going on around the world. As a responsible member of the human race its your duty to stand up against injustice.

And finally the Religious Sect I have a history with Christianity and its the only one I can speak to with complete knowledge. I am in no way picking on Christians of any denomination but we as Christians all no matter what use the same Bible which I have studied intensively. I was going to go to Seminar and actually did have a few classes in theology here in Chicago at Moody Bible institute so I will not just be talking to make myself right I will give you fact.

So in essence to sum it all up to everyone addressed as a Human you have the duty to do the Humane thing and whether it personally affects you or not rights of all people are just that the rights of all people.

A spirit of apathy will ruin a society.  If you call yourself remotely educated or a human being you can not live a life of apathy.

That definition being:

Apathy (also called impassivity or perfunctoriness) is a state of indifference, where an individual has an absence of interest or concern to certain aspects of emotional, social, or physical life.

The loss of apathy makes you a animalistic, you are as guilty as the one that throws the punch and you too will be judged by this.

I would like to state that all opinions and articles by me are of my sole discretion and in no way reflect the attitudes or feelings of the site as a whole or any other people associated with it.  When quoting other resources that information will be in a footnote other than that you can assume that all the words you read are solely mine and how I see and percieve the world around me.

I leave you in love

The Art of Loving Self

I am a firm believer that we are all created in beauty and in love and that something greater than us designed us all to be just as we are.  We are constant works in progress and your life should change from one moment to moment, day to day, year to year. As your body matures and you age its not just a physical process but the true person you are grows as well, or it should.

In my mentoring of different individuals and talking with different friends I have found many people struggle with the identification of self. As people we are taught and told who and what we should be to be accepted and loved. This teaching is flawed in the fact that we are all created as individual beings and even the most similiar people have their own identies. Not even identical twins share the exact same details of who they are as people.

I believe its lifes goal and mission to find out your own reason for being. That is who you truely are as a person. Not how you look, what you have or who loves and accepts you. Any successes you have in life will only be icing on the cake once you find life's purpose for you.

Oh what a joy to wake up every day knowing why the heavens decided to allow you to see one more day. The things and people that we think will make our lives better and enrich us more are only temporary fixes for the deep longing with in to know self and why am I here.

Things will rot, can be stolen or unattainable. People will fail you, turn on you and hurt you. To know one's self is something that you can own and truely have forever. The constant search for happiness and acceptance and things to make us feel good about ourselves are giving to us at birth.  Each person is designed in love and perfection by a creator that loves us unconditionally.

No matter how far off track your life is to you or what you are doing you can stop, access and make corrections as long as you are breathing. Mistakes and failures are lifes lessons and the only thing that you need be bound up about is if you don't get what the creator is trying to teach you.

You can not know success with out failure, you can not know love with out heartbreak. We are our own worst enemies. When trying to live up to standards you have to ask yourself is this something that I feel I should be doing or something I feel I should be doing to be pleasing in the eyes of others.

This week I encourage all to access yourself where you are at the moment do a real self evaluation strip down butt naked honest with yourself and that which made you. Celebrate what you have come from and make goals to where you really want to be.  Don't be worried about the prying eyes of others or their judgement, for we all should be too busy working on ourselves to be concerned with what you need be doing.

Remember this its easier for me as an individual to point out all that is flawed in you and your life and what you should be doing than to sit down and do the necessary work it takes to get my life in order.

NO ONE IN THE WORLD HAS IT ALL ON THE BALL, THEY ARE JUST BETTER AT HIDING IT THAN YOU.

I leave you in love

The Power of Words

I am a lover of words and I understand the vaue of speech. I think that the ability to voice our thoughts is a gift that we often over look or take for granted. Think aobut this there are other animals that reason but are unable to convey what is going on in their heads. I think this is something we shouldl not take for granted. Sitting up thinking about the ways in which people abuse or misuse words is what inspired my latest Youtube Collaboration Video. I am a firm believer that so a man thinketh so is he. There are many times in our lives where we let other people define who we are and this is not cool. A word in and of its self is nothing. I always use the quote watch your thoughts they become word, watch your words they become actions. Everything we do good or bad starts with a thought nothing just happens automatically even when we think that we are just doing things on instinct. I was thinking about the judgements we have of others and those that people have of us and thought about just what is the root of this.

Too many people feel that our thoughts and opinions are based in stone. But as free thinking animals and having the ability to reason and learn. We should know that when we know better we do better. We can not be so caught up in our current feelings to not be able to rationalize and debate with ourselves how true this thinking of ours is. There were many prior thoughts of past generations based on the facts available at the time that people accepted but we find out to be not true now. The only absolutes in life are math 1+1 will always be 2 but when it comes to people and human nature that is a thing of constant change as we evolve and our conciousness about the world around us and the people in it gets bigger.

Who is Chanel?

I think that the first few post for this blog will be the many facets of who I am as a person. Do to the fact that their still seem to be so many people that are ignorant to the fact of who I am as a person outside of he net. I tell people all the time people are like diamonds multifacted there are so many different components to us that make us who we are and valuable as people. I define who I am and I don't accept the opinions of others as my reality. We all have one life to live and peoples time would be better spent making the best life for self instead of worrying about what someone they will probably never meet is doing.

So since so many people seem to be interested and my life has always been an open book I figure who better to give you the "truth" about Chanel than Chanel. One can not seriously think that seeing one video reading a small paragraph or asking someone that doesnt interact with me on a daily basis to honestly know anything about me. At best you will get an intelligent opinion but more than likely you will have no concept of who I am at all.

It's easy to try to dehumanize people we don't know. But as a highly educated girl with a Master's in Psychology I know the source of most peoples judgements. I spend most of my day analyzing peoples actions and behaviors. its kinda a game with me and something I enjoy doing. Installment one of Who is Chanel coming tomorrow.

The more you read about me you will be surprised you will really be learning more about who you are as a person.

I think I am gonna love this

I think I will be able to more keep up with my Mind Speak blog which is my common sense non adult blog on my observations and views of the world. As many that already know I am a no nonsense kinda girl that pulls no punches I speak my mind and don't like folks dancing on my toes. As Judge Judy would say you can't piss on my cupcake and tell me its frosting. If you open your mind past your insecurities and judgements you might find that I am just Nellie from the block and someone you could learn from, like hell maybe even respect one day.

Stay tuned.

The state of the black gay community

The recent passing of a dear friend and watching the decline of the community, has me thinking, just what is the current state of the black gay commmunity and what is our role in the world. I have been accused by many of the young gays of being a "HATER" when nothing could be further from the truth. Unlike many of my conterparts I will praise when it's deserved and chastise when its needed. Too many of our young people and older ones alike have gotten off track of just what it is that we should be striving fcr in life.

One's sexuality shouldn't define their whole being. If your whole existence is wrapped up in who you want to sleep with then your life is a sham and a fraud. Sexuality in all honesty is only important when having sex. The gay movement much like the civil rights movement of the earlier eras, was a struggle about being accepted and respected as part of the America that we are entitled too being born here. Too much of what we focus on now is imposing our will and our lives on others in turn doing to others what they have done to us for years.

Should we blend in and go back into our closets to be more accepted by all means NO. What I am however is the best way to show how our life is not so strange and different is to stop going out of our way to be different.

Many times people who have never come into contact with transexuals are really shocked just by sitting with me casually or seeing me go about my normal day outside of the porn work and seeing just how similar our lives really are. Outside of sex and my body there is not anything different from me and any other human on this planet. My limitations and my successes are determined by me and I refuse to be a victim of the poor me syndrome.

I am not a flawed being and I am just as good and capable as anyone else in the world if I apply myself.

TRANSGENDERED?

This was a video made by on of my kids whomn I love and here is a comment from one of my girls on the video. I am moved so much by the both of them.

WORDS OF WISDOM COMING FROM SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PERSON! I'M MOVED TO TEARS.

AT THE AGE OF 23, MY UNCLE A SOUTHERN PREACHER, CONFRONTED ME WITH SIMILAR

QUESTIONS.
WITH TEARS IN HIS EYES HE ASKED:

WHAT WILL YOU SAY TO GOD ALMIGHTY WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE HIM?

YOU CAN STILL CORRECT THIS MISTAKE WITH PRAYER! GOD CAN FIX EVERYTHING!

CHANEL MY ANSWER WAS SIMPLE & DIRECT:

WHEN I STAND BEFORE GOD I WILL ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU FOR JUDGING ME! AND THE

ONE THING THAT I KNOW ABOUT YOUR GOD IS, HE CAN'T MAKE MISTAKES! HE DIDN'T MAKE A MISTAKE

WHEN HE MADE ME!!!!

knowing is half the battle....

Disney's first African American doll

For the first time, Disney is creating a film with an African-American princess whose doll will make its debut Monday at the American International Toy Fair in New York City.

The cocoa-colored doll, which sports a tiara, a flowing blue gown, and is roughly the size of a Barbie, is expected to sell for about the same $10 to $15 as Barbie. Disney hopes it will boost the franchise through rough times. The $22 billion toy industry saw sales fall about 3 percent last year, and sales of dolls dropped a hefty 8 percent, according to the Toy Industry Association.

Though Princess Tiana was on the drawing board long before Barack Obama was elected the nation’s first black president, marketing experts say she signals a growing awareness by industries from toymakers to cosmetic companies that diversity is critical in a nation where people of color will be the majority in little more than 30 years.

“It’s very significant,” says Lisa Skriloff, president of Multicultural Marketing Resources. “It’s like a stamp of approval for one of the most outstanding family (entertainment) companies to say this is important.”

Tiana, whose story will come to the big screen later this year in the animated musical “The Princess and The Frog,” is the first princess introduced by Disney since Mulan in 1998.

Disney executives say that they did not set out to make a social statement.

“It was much more about the storytelling,” says Kathy Franklin, vice president, global studio franchise development for Disney Consumer Products. “This was not about a conscious decision to say we need an African-American princess.”

Yet, industry watchers say that when Princess Tiana dolls hit stores in the fall, they will bring diversity to a marketplace where it’s been sorely lacking.

“I think we’re going to see more ... in boys’ toys as well as girls’, and it’s important that we do,” says Ira Mayer, publisher of The Licensing Letter, a trade publication. Mattel, which has the license to create the Princess Tiana dolls, is planning to release its own line of black dolls in September. Part of the Barbie family, the So In Style dolls are being touted as having a more authentic appearance, from their hair to their varying skin tones.

Disney, which has had great success with its Princess franchise, predicts that sales will surge with the arrival of Tiana. “We expect our sales of Princess Tiana products to be significant, and not just to African-American households,” says Franklin.

Tiana merchandise will range from Halloween costumes to backpacks. There are plans for Tiana-theme MP3 players and digital cameras to be in stores by the end of the year, and a line of Princess Tiana and “The Princess and the Frog” books will go on sale this fall.

The Chanel 2.55 purse_ its true history

Three mysterious digits are used to refer to one of the world’s most famous bags: Coco Chanel’s classic quilted purse with chain shoulder strap, to be later reissued by Karl Lagerfeld. Leading us to consider: how has this accessory managed to remain so popular for over fifty years, a dream object for generations of women, old and young alike? There are several explanations: firstly it is a perfect archetype of its genre which has won a place in the collective imagination, an epitome of luxury cleverly reproduced by the Fashion Maison in a series of similar guises, each one extremely actual and phenomenal. The 2.55 is a unique and exclusive purse, often imitated but never equalled. A favourite with both women and girls, adding a classy touch to the former and a carefree air to the latter. So where and when did it originate? The shoulder bag debuted in Mademoiselle Chanel’s collections in 1930. In 1955, Coco revamped the purse by introducing the characteristic quilting, early models were made from jersey, followed by ultra soft “ plongé “ (dry drummed) lambskin. Other distinguishing features include: quilting, a gold chain shoulder strap, sometimes interwoven with a strip of leather and the trademark double «C» fastening, with plated screws or 3 microns. Most models also have burgundy leather lining, at least one inner zip pocket, meticulous internal finishing, the name Chanel printed in gold letters with the registered R trademark, to guarantee against unauthorised reproductions, and a numbered certificate of authenticity to accompany the number shown inside the bag. This “identity card“ acts as a document to distinguish the real product form its imitations. Two thirds of all Chanel bags are produced in the company plants in France, whilst the remainder are manufactured in Italy, in particular evening and more sporty models, under rigorous Servizio Produzione (Production Service) control. Each 2.55 (5 was Coco’s lucky number) is based on 180 different operations, from the initial cutting to the final assembly, a combination of advanced technology and traditional workmanship, including cutting, assembly and chain weaving. Materials used include: jersey and excellent sheepskin from the Millau region of central France, tanned, dyed in drums and left to dry in the air, before being subjected to a series of tests: colour fastness, grain strength and UV ray resistance. Other skins: calfskin, suede, both calf and kid, grainé calfskin and crocodile, (the finest stomach hides from guaranteed sources), and ostrich: the bag’s beauty lies in its smoothness and cut “pearls “. Velvet satin, grosgrain, tweed, flannel and towelling are also often used, according to creative bent. Internal features: classic black or navy leather bags always sport a burgundy lining whilst other colours are used for tone on tone lining (excepting green purses lined in black), whilst the black jersey versions are lined in red grosgrain. Thanks to all the above proposals, and the meticulous workmanship, from choice of materials to realisation, the 2.55 can be likened to a custom made product, realised in an atelier, personally made to be taken everywhere, and to guard all our secrets, a treasured family heirloom to be handed

Remember whats important in life.

I was a bit over all the importance that people black people especially have put on celebrity scandals. This at a time when America has decided to set aside a month to honor the accomplishments and struggles of the folks that made it possible for these celebrities to be who they are today. It just frustrates me to no end that celebrities are thought to be unfailing humans that can do no wrong.

I take Chris Crockers stance here.

LEAVE THOSE CELEBRITIES ALONE.

When are we gonna just get over it.

For much of the last forty years, ever since America "fixed" its race problem in the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, we white people have been impatient with African Americans who continued to blame race for their difficulties. Often we have heard whites ask, "When are African Americans finally going to get over it?

Now I want to ask: "When are we White Americans going to get over our ridiculous obsession with skin color?

Recent reports that "Election Spurs Hundreds' of Race Threats, Crimes" should frighten and infuriate every one of us. Having grown up in "Bombingham," Alabama in the 1960s, I remember overhearing an avalanche of comments about what many white classmates and their parents wanted to do to John and Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Eventually, as you may recall, in all three cases, someone decided to do more than "talk the talk."

Since our recent presidential election, to our eternal shame we are once again hearing the same reprehensible talk I remember from my boyhood.

We white people have controlled political life in the disunited colonies and United States for some 400 years on this continent. Conservative whites have been in power 28 of the last 40 years. Even during the eight Clinton years, conservatives in Congress blocked most of his agenda and pulled him to the right. Yet never in that period did I read any headlines suggesting that anyone was calling for the assassinations of presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan, or either of the Bushes. Criticize them, yes. Call for their impeachment, perhaps.

But there were no bounties on their heads. And even when someone did try to kill Ronald Reagan, the perpetrator was a non-political mental case who wanted merely to impress Jody Foster.

But elect a liberal who happens to be Black and we're back in the sixties again. At this point in our history, we should be proud that we've proven what conservatives are always saying -that in America anything is possible, EVEN electing a black man as president. But instead we now hear that school children from Maine to California are talking about wanting to "assassinate Obama."

Fighting the urge to throw up, I can only ask, "How long?" How long before we white people realize we can't make our nation, much less the whole world, look like us? How long until we white people can -once and for all- get over this hell-conceived preoccupation with skin color? How long until we white people get over the demonic conviction that white skin makes us superior? How long before we white people get over our bitter resentments about being demoted to the status of equality with non-whites?

How long before we get over our expectations that we should be at the head of the line merely because of our white skin? How long until we white people end our silence and call out our peers when they share the latest racist jokes in the privacy of our white-only conversations?

I believe in free speech, but how long until we white people start making racist loudmouths as socially uncomfortable as we do flag burners? How long until we white people will stop insisting that blacks exercise personal responsibility, build strong families, educate themselves enough to edit the Harvard Law Review, and work hard enough to become President of the United States, only to threaten to assassinate them when they do?

How long before we start "living out the true meaning" of our creeds, both civil and religious, that all men and women are created equal and that "red and yellow, black and white" all are precious in God's sight?

Until this past November 4, I didn't believe this country would ever elect an African American to the presidency. I still don't believe I'll live long enough to see us white people get over our racism problem. But here's my three-point plan:

First, everyday that Barack Obama lives in the White House that Black Slaves Built I'm going to pray that God (and the Secret Service) will protect him and his family from us white people.

Second, I'm going to report to the FBI any white person I overhear saying, in seriousness or in jest, anything of a threatening nature about President Obama.

Third, I'm going to pray to live long enough to see America surprise the world once again, when white people can "in spirit and in truth" sing of our damnable color prejudice, "We HAVE overcome."

Obama's President so now what?

YOU VOTED FOR OBAMA SO NOW WHAT?

Two slogans resonated throughout Obama's campaign. That was, Yes We Can and Time for Change. With the successful election of Obama now we have to figure out where we play in all this. Voting for Obama was only the first step. Let's not be disillisioned into thinking that this one man will be our Messiah. As American's far too many times we put our people on pedestals only to kick that same pedestal from under them. Obama is a man, a human prone to all the things that plague us all. There is an overwhelming gravity placed on the shoulders of this man and its up to us all to continue in our support.

The change of office is never immediate or drastic. Change is a process other wise it would be called a miracle. Obama is coming into a system that has been patched for far too long instead of being fixed. We have put a band aid on many of the cancers that plague our nation instead of finding a cure. In my humble opinion its going to take two terms for the dream to be truely realized. Let's not sit on our backsides and wait to reap the benifits of our one vote. Any time in our history when ground breaking things took place it took the work of the entire nation it starts from the head and trickles down to every man. We must roll up our sleeves and work with our new government and trust that our choice was the best choice.

Lets not sit back 3 months, 6 months a year into this mans term and start to loose faith and start picking apart him and the administration he chooses to help him and us in the process of progress. Some things will be immediate but for the most part you will see subtle strides forward. All that matters is that we are moving forward. The Presidency is like anything else there are steps to reach a plateau and if those steps dont exist they must be built.

To the second part Yes We Can the most operative word of this was WE. We is used a lot in our government and what our political history. We the people, We hold these truths and so forth. Our President -elect is not in this alone the success of his term will depend of us. We the people and how we back him.

Let's stop treating our politicians as celebrities or Demi God's. These are men born of women completely human and the only thing special about any of them, including Obama, is how they think and what they intend to do.

THE ART OF HUMANITY

Humans behave Humanely

In this piece I will give a little background into the meaning of hate and the history of hate. First Webster's definition of HATE

Main Entry: 1hate
Pronunciation: \'hat\
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English hete; akin to Old High German haz hate, Greek kedos care
Date: before 12th century
1 a: intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b: extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing
2: an object of hatred

Here are the points of why this should be your concern:

1. We as Christians can not decide what parts of the Bible we are to live by. You either accept it as a whole or you are a hypocrit point blank.

2. We got the title Christian which means Christ like being followers of Jesus. We are to be an example of Christ on earth. Those that decide who God loves and doesn't love are preaching a lie.

3. The Bible teaches us that God is all knowing and all powerful and can change any one. If you truely feel in your heart that homosexuality is a sin you are to pray for and help not condem and damn.

4. God's love covers a multitude of sins. Does this mean that its ok to continue in any sin and just use up God's grace. No but what it does mean it God deals with everyone one differently and you should not be so caught up in your personal feelings about what one is doing and just love them as God does in spite of.

5. Does my supporting an anti LBGT violence program conflict with my spiritual beliefs? To that I would tell you know because the Bible was not given to us to judge its a blue print for living and there is one main theme from Genesis to Revelations and that theme is Love. You don't have to agree with everything a person says or does to support them True Christians see all humans even those you feel are not living up to your standards as valid beings that have a right to exist peacefully just because God created them.

6. You can not claim a love, faith or belief in God and boldly march at the funerals of slain gays and gay supporters and not be a hypocrit. God will judge you by your actions as well and if homosexuality is a sin punishable by damnation so to you will be judged for all you did in the name of God against any of his people. The Bible tells us Jesus said what you have done to the least of them you have done also unto me. So if you dont see the God in all people you are religious and not spiritual there is a big difference. Religion has more to do with Church and Doctrine and Spirituality has more to do with what church should be about God.

7. The point of Christianity is to do a work for God. God does not save us to just save us he saves us to be witnesses and draw more to Him. If you feel so passionately about the sin of homosexuality how can you alienate the people you need to help the most. Show them that you really care about their soul and salvation. Do you really think hate and saying good for you is going to make people think that God cares when you spit at them from behind your Bibles or stand in your pulpits and tell them that AIDS was sent from God to punish the wicked. You are preaching a Biblical untruth all judgement will be in the final days that scriptual good promised Noah after the last flood there would be no plagues and He went so far as to send his own Son in flesh to be the redeemer of all men.

LOVE STARTS AT HOME

Chanel Winn

The Art of Loving Self

THE ART OF LOVING SELF(DO YOU BABY)

The Power of Speech

Ladies and gents we need to understand the power of speech. Its not what you say but how you say it. I still learn this in my personal life on a daily basis. Your views of others also reflect on you. Ladies we can not want the men that are attracted to us to respect and treat us as ladies if we think that men that sleep with trannies are Bi or Gay. If we constantly vocalize to them they are faggots then what does that say about us. I think Bi or Gay men will sleep with males or females. Whether a man is sucking that trannies dick or getting fucked if he only does those activities he is still str8 to me. The behavior is gay the man is not unless he is participating in those activities with other men that look like himself.

Men that sit up and call ladies whores for adult work or half women for still finding pleasure in using thier dicks what are are you saying about yourself. If you constantly seek out those that you have these attitudes about its saying that you too are a trick or a closeted homosexual.

My video I define me speaks to the fact that you must know yourself first before you can began to know another. A good knowledge of who you are as a person can help you understand and relate to others and also make you more tolerant of those that are not like you.

I am so vocal about how people treat each other for many reasons. Your thoughts become words, your words become actions and those actions become discrimination.

Many attrocities have occured in human history by thought. Many were killed in the name of God because of a thought. Blacks were enslaved because of someones thinking and perception. Hitler charismatically killed millions of Jews because of the power of speech. Many women were hung as witches in Salem because of thinking.

This week I encourage you to get a knowledge of self and then others and think about how you treat yourself and others. Let's not as the victims become the abusers. Don't let the trauma of the past affect your behavior of today. You don't even have to have a faith in God to know scientifically we are all created by the same microbial matter and none is greater than the other.

I leave you in love,

Chanel

AS THE SNOW BEGINS TO FALL AGAIN IN CHICAGO

A girl has to find fashionalble ways to keep her feet warm and dry. While surfing the net what did I come across but the next new cute boot. That is durable enough for a Chicago winter all while getting my shine on.

Are Sorels the new Uggs? No, they're far too cool to be that. Sure, the classic outdoor shoemaker's punnily named Joan of Arctic boots are practical (they're apparently rated for temperatures as low as -40° C). But thanks to a suede upper and faux-fur trim, they're also just stylish enough.

Lengendary Sex Kitten Eartha Kitt Dies

Eartha Kitt, a sultry singer, dancer and actress who rose from South Carolina cotton fields to become an international symbol of elegance and sensuality, has died, a family spokesman said. She was 81.

Andrew Freedman said Kitt, who was recently treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, died Thursday in Connecticut of colon cancer.

Kitt, a self-proclaimed "sex kitten" famous for her catlike purr, was one of America's most versatile performers, winning two Emmys and nabbing a third nomination. She also was nominated for several Tonys and two Grammys.

Her career spanned six decades, from her start as a dancer with the famed Katherine Dunham troupe to cabarets and acting and singing on stage, in movies and on television. She persevered through an unhappy childhood as a mixed-race daughter of the South and made headlines in the 1960s for denouncing the Vietnam War during a visit to the White House.

Your attitude is important.

Failure is an attitude. Having an attitude of failure can't help us. It can only hurt us. If we're not careful, it can grow into a way of life. So, when we feel like failures, we'd better look at our attitudes.
An attitude of failure often comes from making mistakes. But we can learn to see our mistakes as lessons. This turns mistakes into gains, not failures. Sometimes, we try to do things that just can't be done. When we act like we can control others, we're going to fail. When we act like we know everything, we're going to fail. If we try to act like God, we're going to fail. We can't control others. We can't know everything. We're not God. We're human. If we act human, we've already won.

Prayer for the Day
Higher Power, help me to learn from my attitudes. Whatever the outcome, help
Me learn.

Action for the Day
Facing our past "failures" is the first step to learning from them. I'll talk to my sponsor about a past failure and the good that came from it.

Ne Ne The Villian?

I don't know call me crazy but I think Ne Ne was the most real, down to earth and genuine of all the "ladies" on this Real Housewives of Atlanta. She was so far from fake and I think she was demonized for not being one of the Joneses. I admired her for speaking her mind and for doing what was right for her. She was labeled a bitch but most strong self assured women are. She was, is and will be my favorite and we love her. I think she showed the most growth on the show and I am hoping for big things from her.

ILLINOIS FEATURED TODAY ON PURPLE STATES TV

Purple States is a dynamic new media company that transforms the best features of digital and established media into an original and valuable synthesis. Purple States taps into the raw energy, the unfiltered authenticity, and the dynamic interactivity of user-generated content on the web, and distills this diffuse material into the story of a group of ordinary people covering the news Ð a story with the coherence, high production values and watchability associated with traditional media. Purple States has pioneered people-powered broadcast-quality news coverage on television, the internet, and mobile platforms. During its first two seasons, Purple States has aired weekly documentary series on NYTimes.com, washingtonpost.com, Verizon V-Cast, and local television.

In January 2009, a new team will go to Washington with the new President and the new Congress, to cover the first hundred days of the new administration for major news platforms, both domestic and international.

As Purple States moves into 2009 and beyond, we are developing programming on various news stories that lend themselves to people-powered coverage. The website currently features a series called 50/50: fifty bloggers from fifty states in fifty days, in edited video-blogs that tell a cross country story about the economy. Purple States is also in discussion with cable networks about longer-form documentaries, including topic-specific series (immigration; housing; water), and a lifestyle series based on a purple premise.

The members of each Purple States team are carefully selected to reflect the range of demographic and other characteristics appropriate to the season's programming, whether that is election coverage or how the economic crisis looks from Main Street. They bring the depth of their own life experience to their interpretation of the news and their relationships with each other. The viewer gets to know and comes to care about them.

The members of the Purple States team are citizen journalists, but not in the usual sense. They are not isolated man-on-the-street videographers, but members of a systematically deployed team who travel together to report on news from the frontlines. Their journey is professionally filmed and edited, and aired on a variety of major media platforms. Purple States is reality news: The Real World meets The Huffington Post.

During the first two seasons, the Purple States cast included a 24-year-old florist - now college student - from Iowa, a laid-off manufacturing professional and libertarian from New England, a 33-year-old Baptist mother of three and teacher from South Carolina, a gun-carrying Cuban-American art gallery director from Florida, and a grandfather from Southern California who works for AT&T and lives with his Mexican-American son-in-law.

AM I THE PERFECT LIE?

I am totally addicted to Sex Change Hospital and I have to force myself as I watch it not to sit in judgement of the girls that go in to get vaginia to feel complete. I have yet to see one get a vagina and not look like an old man with a vagina. I bring this up because there is always the sexual debate and the qualifying factors of what makes us transexual.

Personally even though I am in the sex industry 95% of my life is spent not having sex. I don't know I don't let what I do 5% of the time dictate what I am as a person. I identify as female but I am really uncomfortable being considered a woman. Now let me say I dont want to walk down the street with everyone knowing whats in my panties but I am at a point in my life where I am content being transexual.

There were stages when I hated myself and my body and I thought that God was cruel for sending me into this world with that offending member dangling between my legs. I have made peace with myself and my body and I love every inch of me, no pun intended.

Let me give you a little back ground. For those of you that think that I am ugly you should have been here when the party started. This face has been surgically feminized beyond recognition. I guess I am a little jaded when I am loved for my feminity because I want to be loved for the person that I am. I am the same person that I have always been but the more beautiful, desirable and passable I get now people start to see me as valid.

I know many may not see where I am coming from but I want to be adored for who I am not for the image I give. In defense of men that bottom, and I am not talking bout you nasty mother fuckers running round giving up that happy hole to any thing in a dress and wig, I am talking about the men that have that come what may attitude when they fall in love with a girl and just deal with the reality of the situation. But in my personal experience bottom men have shown me the most respect and treated me as a lady should be treated, hell the majority of top men don't even know how to come correct with genetic females always on that bullshit and playing games thinking they dick is gold what the hell can they do with girls like me.

Now I have been in monogamous relationships and each was different and this may shock yall but some of them never gave up the ass. In a relationship I have a come what may attitude if my needs are being met outside the bed room if I am feeling loved cherished respected adored intellectually stimulated I will be orgasmning in my brain before we even get naked so when we get it bed I will be cool with what ever is going on.

I stick to my guns and I wont waver on it what so ever if I feel that our relationship is sexual and I am only a conquest to you we will both be putting a notch in the bed post. Everything must be mutual and you must be a gentleman and ladies come first.

I don't know Imma lady but I am no woman. To me at times the drive to pass and be a woman seems to speak to my spirit as if there is something wrong with me. I have to proudly wear the title of transexual in order to stay self loving. I don't think people understood when they defined man and woman in the beginning. Every culture since the beginning of time has had the two spirit people and today I walk that delicate line of feminity and masculinity and hold my head high. I am not less than cause I wasn't born with a vagina. I actually feel blessed to be born able to relate to both genders having my feet firmly planted in the world of both legs spread wide a woman with an enlongated clit.

I AM JUST OVER BEING THE PERFECT LIE. ITS OK TO BE CHANEL THE TRANSEXUAL.

ADULTS HALLOWEEN PARTY

Adults like to have as much fun during Halloween as the kids do! Adult Halloween parties tend to be much wilder than children's parties with dancing, alcohol use and catered food.

Using common sense can make a party a great one and avoid anything that may ruin it.

Keep an eye on the drinking, don't let it get out of hand. Take the keys away from anyone that may be driving. Have one person stay sober and offer to drive those people home who may be too intoxicated to drive.

When deciding on a menu, check and see if anyone attending the party has food allergies that might be a problem. Common food allergies to dairy products, peanuts and shell fish can really put a damper on the festivities.

Planning ahead for problems can make all the difference for your Halloween party!!!

BE SAFE ALL AND ENJOY

BET'S SUNDAY BEST GOSPEL CONTEST

BET IS HAVING THE SUNDAYS BEST COMPETITION AGAIN IF YOU ARE A LOVER OF GOSPEL MUSIC YOU CAN NOW HAVE A HAND IN HELPING MANY TALENTED SPIRIT FILLED HOPEFULS ON THEIR JOURNEY TO SHARE THE WORD AND THE LOVE OF THE LORD THRU MUSIC.

I AM A TRUE BELIEVER THAT MUSIC IS A MINISTRY AND HAVE SUPPORTED MANY OF THESE YOUNG PEOPLE. IT IS A JOY OF MINE TO SEE SO MANY YOUNG FOLKS WITH A ZEAL AND PASSION FOR CHRIST.

I WANT YOU TO CHECK OUT A DEAR YOUNG LADY MISS CRYSTAL JOHNSON FROM TN. SHE IS A COUSIN TO A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND UPON MEETING HER AND GETTING TO KNOW HER SHE HAS CAPTURED MY HEART EVEN MORE. SHE IS DOING WELL BUT STILL NEEDS YOUR HELP TO REALIZE HER DREAMS IN SHARING HER GIFT WITH THE WORLD. SHE TRUELY HAS AN ANNOINTED VOICE.

HERE ARE SOME EXPERTS FROM HER INTERVIEW.

What is your idea of the quintessential gospel artist?
My idea of the quintessential (most perfect embodiment of) a gospel artist is one who is not only talented musically, and versatile stylistically, but one who is spirit-filled. In my opinion everyone is great today. Seriously, talent is just absolutely overflowing in today's society, but it's the annointing that destroys the yoke. A great singer, gospel singer that is, is the one who leads you to change your life, who leaves you feeling encouraged and inspired, not the one who- when they're gone- just leaves you thinking about how many awesome runs they did. This is my desire: to be the kind of artist who, through God, changes lives and gives inspiration.

Which gospel song best describes your relationship with God?
"Great is Thy Faithfulness" is the gospel song that best describes my relationship with God. Through all that I've experienced in my life, one thing is for sure: God is faithful to me...........In Spite of Me!!!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Honestly, I wouldn't change anything about me right now. I am far from perfect but even my imperfections have helped to mold me into the person I now am. I enjoy being me. I am flowing in my own lane, being myself, who is exactly who God created me to be:)

YOU CAN SUPPORT THIS YOUNG LADY AND MANY OTHERS BY GOING TO THE SITE AND VOTING FOR THEM. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES EVERY 24 HOURS.

THIS IS THE DIRECT VOTING LINK TO MS JOHNSON'S PROFILE AND YOU CAN CHECK OUT MY PROFILE TO SEE OTHERS THAT I HAVE VOTED FOR AND ENJOY AS WELL.

LET'S SHOW THESE SPIRIT FILLED CHILDREN SOME LOVE. ITS GOOD TO SEE PEOPLE LIKE THIS IN A WORLD FILLED WITH HATE AND DISSENTION THAT THE LOVE OF GOD STILL ABOUNDS.

THANK YOU

CHANEL

CHICAGO MAY SOON HAVE GAY SCHOOLS

I had to weigh the pros and cons of Gay Schools. I have very mixed feelings about the need for such schools. I would love to hear back from people and their feelings good or bad on this subject. Do you feel that this is something necessary and long over due or do you think this is a step backwards considerig that we all wish to be accepted as one. Does this further alienate and already discriminated bunch of people? I have written a special article explaining why Gay Schools don't just yet have my full support.

The love of Self

I feel that the Love of Oneself is the most important love one can have. Self love and caring should be a daily responsibility of each and every person. We should not have to look outside ourselves to find the acceptance and love that we need. What we get from others should enhance how we already feel about our ownselves. Self love is not to be confused with conceit or being full of oneself but celebrating who you are as a person. Its a sense of being at peace with yourself where you are and with what you have been given. Each and every one of us was designed by a greater being that sees us as perfect and good and its up to us to find that same unconditional love for self. Take some time out today to appreciate yourself, love yourself, validate and praise yourself.

Grace Jones' first studio album in two decades, "Hurricane," will arrive Oct. 27 in the U.K. through a deal with British electronic-leaning indie label Wall of Sound.
PIAS, the parent company of Wall Of Sound, will distribute "Hurricane" worldwide, excluding North America.
"It's an absolute honor and privilege to be working with Grace," comments Mark Jones, managing director of Wall of Sound, in a statement. "No one has inspired more people whatever race, sex, colour or creed to be who they want to be and so much more." He adds, "Her new album will not only re-establish her as one of the world's most important artists but also introduce her to a new generation of music lovers".
The Jamaican-born artist previewed four new tracks from the forthcoming release, including "Corporate Cannibal," during a well-received performance June 19 at the Meltdown festival on London's South Bank. Press headlines glowed the following day, included one in the Guardian Newspaper which simply read "Amazing Grace."
The new album, her first since "Bulletproof Heart" landed in 1989 via Capitol Records, was produced by Ivor Guest and Jones and includes performances from Sly and Robbie and Brian Eno.
Jones' only festival performance this year will be an exclusive headline set on the second-from-last evening of the Secret Garden Party Festival, to be held July 24-27 in Huntingdon, England.
