Let me catch you up to speed

So much of my life is out in the open I am very private about my personal life. I need to have my space and my me time in order to remain sane and be able to do what I do here on the net for you all.

I dont mind letting people into aspects of my life but it has always been important for me to maintain some personal space.

Well this past week alot of the advice that I have given to so many of you I had to apply it to my own personal life. My house was broken into and they got basically all my electronics. Everyone who truly knows me knows that I run a full business from home. I know I make it look fun, easy and exciting but I take my job very seriously. I appreciate all my supporters and since the beginning I have insisted on giving my absolute best to them.

I am working on getting everything replaced but in the mean time some very good friends have given me loan of a computer and webcam. I will still be around probably even more now. LOL

Let me just vent with you all for a moment cause I have had a few days to process this all. I can't tell you how it feels to come home to something like this, I felt violated and raped. I am used to having things in life it wasn't so much the material things that were taken but the fact that someone was in my home. My place of residence has always been a sanctuary for me I strive to have all the creature comforts just so that it can be my oasis in this crazy world. Second I was worried about work and what I was gone do cause as I said this is not a hobby for me its a career. Then after going thru a range of emotions from hurt, fear, anger, then self pity I started reading thru my old tweets and watching some of my own youtube vids and I came to a place of acceptance.

I don't know why but it happened and oh well. Tragedy occurs daily and people find the strength to preserver. I am an always have been a survivor and things way worse than this have happened to me. So where am I today I am sitting here in a spirit of gratitude because one I was not home and not harmed , two I still possess the mind, will , determination, intelligence and drive that got me all the things that were stolen so I can have them all again and three I have some wonderful friends that have gone above and beyond to see to it that I was able to get back to work and even those that didn't have anything to contribute just kept me in their prayers.

Last and most important you know I live by faith everything I do and all my successes are not just by my own doing there is a greater force and a bigger creator who sees to my every need.

I am not one to beg you know its not becoming of a Goddess but if you are able and so inclined in your spirit there are many ways in which you can help.

I never understand adults who are so hungry to be loved and accepted or recognized by people that don’t matter.

 The search for something for most people is so great they will put themselves in situations that they more than likely will do things that they normally would not do.


I find most social situations and social networks to be very cult like. Very few people think for themselves these days. There is a whole lot of people just going bout being told by others what they should want out of life, what they need in life, how they should live life, who they should talk to, and if they are valuable as a human being. Now I have friends who I have a lot in common with almost to the point we are like one person and can finish each others thoughts but the beauty of our relationship is that we always maintain our sense of self.
None of my friends or romantic relationships completely consume me nor I them. We are two individuals sharing a common liking and or experience.

 That being said what kinda man does Chanel want. I like a man with intelligence and common sense above all else. If I find him to be an idiot I dont care how fine he is its not gonna last long. I like a man that is self assured not that phony swag but a man that is confident in who he is and his abilities in the bed but more so out the bed. I want a strong man someone proud of who he is. Character is verrrrry important. If I don't respect you and or your existence I could never give myself to you. He should have goals and dreams and do more than talk about them. I want him to be a hard worker. Attentive to my needs and feelings. He should be able to hold a conversation he should be able to be a chameleon like me he should be able to relate to people from the streets to the boardroom. He should be able to maneuver in and out of any situation. I like really independant men as thats how I am I hate needy clingy people. I don't need a man that constantly needs and ego stroke from me. Respect is key with out it we will never have anything. He should be socially concious and have a sense of compassion for the earth, animals and his fellow man. He needs to have some sense of a God I am not hung up on religions but to me people that dont realize that there is something bigger than us out there and me aren't a good match for each other. 

Now physically I am partial to black and Latin men but this is not mandatory. I like them tall also not, mandatory cause some of the shorties be so damn cute cant help but love them. I like a man with big hands and big feet not for the reason you think lol cause we all know I have 9.5 inches and some of the smallest hands and feet around. I like a man that takes pride in his appearance in the way he wears his clothes and grooms his hair. He must exude a humble confidence that doesn't seem too cocky. I want to talk though about "bitches". I am a firm believer that no one is born inherantly evil or good. In fact I think we all possess good and bad qualities and they are all necessary to our personality to be who we are as people.

I think people wouldn't be so affected by people with terrible attitudes if they saw people for what they truelly are. I will use Tyra as an example and I have to say I personally have nothing against her at all. She seems to grind the gears of so many people and I will say that she is a little annoying to me as well but hell I am 40 all kids annoy me LOL

People think she is just an evil bitch but when I really look at her I see a child still trying to find herself. If peel back the MAC too you will see a child who is never complimented for anything outside of her beauty. It's easy to see why her whole sense of self esteem is wrapped up in how she looks.

Let's talk about other of bitches my best friend Vanessa and I used to be bitches and this was stemmed from the fact that we figured no one liked us anyway with out even knowing us we figured might as well give them a reason. This too stemmed from esteem issues this is something I still struggle with all the time. I have just resolved that I will not let anyones actions or opinions of me change me from being the kind of person I want to be. I work daily not to feed into it by being the expected bitch.

Then there are the hurting bitches like many forms of abuse. Those who have been hurt usually turn out to hurt others later. Crazy as it seems this is the cycle of abuse. The abused become the abusers.

So if you stop and look at the bitches around you will find out that bitchiness is a defense mechanism. You will see these bitches as insecure, hurting, unsure fragile beings.

AIDS VICTIMS? RETWEET PLZ

I wanted to go more into the thoughts I was sharing in the video I made today. I spoke about changing your thoughts and terminology when speaking about people with AID/HIV.

I always hear people that consider themselves being supportive calling these people Victims. I don't think that any one dealing with this condition sees themselves as a victim. Although people become infected and impacted in many different ways and are at varying states of health there are no victims. Much like cancer its something that must be dealt with.

Victims have a defeatist attitude and just like with cancer or any other life changing illness you have to have the attitude of a warrior and a overcomer in order to deal with the changes something like this will bring to your life.

Think about the words you use. People with any illness don't need your pity or you to feel sorry for them I am sure your support would be much more appreciated.

The mind and body are so very connected no one needs to hear or be reminded just how bad their life is and actually that's only your opinion. In talking with many people they often have told me I rather be here dealing with this than dead from it.

Let's learn today how to truly be encouraging and supportive. People with HIV/AIDS cancer or anything else rarely have days when their day is totally consumed with their conditions. Life still must go on there are families to raise, jobs to go to bills to pay and so forth.

So I say to you today there are no victims except those that give up on life.

What's your drive what motivates you

I have spoken on it time and time again in my youtube videos but ten minutes just isnt enough time for me to get my complete point across. This is why I now blog about things I feel most passionately about.

I did a video about youtube celebrity and hero worship and I will expound on it now.

Many of you know that my vision for my channel is for it to have purpose. Well actually everything in my life has to have meaning or purpose.

Above you will see my video and two other videos on this same topic that will make you think delve into them and try to figure out what drives you or motivates you.  Shout outs to The XD Experience & Walking Water.

Far too many people derive some sense of self esteem from being important to someone else. You should wake up every morning feeling a sense of importance just because the creator saw fit to let you see another day. A problem arises when we need to be seen as something in the eyes of other to validate us. You are special just because you are here. It's up to you to make something of your life. You don't have to be rich, famous, loved or well known to be of importance and happy.

Most of the fame chasers would be a lot happier and successful in life if they realize this. I always say first things first. Too many folks spend too much time trying to make everyone else realize who they are when they don't know who they are themselves. Love starts at home. So if you want to be loved by others start loving you first. You want to be appreciated by others appreciate yourself first. Like spirits are drawn to each other. If you live your life in a spirit of truth the right things will come your way in your season.

Second set of folks I wanna address are those that live vicariously thru the lives of folks that don't even know you exist. I always get saddened to watch long debates between folks who go back and forth about celebrities. In fact I get a little pissed off that folks can know all this and that about this artist or that artist but don't have a clue about anything that is truly socially revelant to the world. Entertainment is just that entertainment it is not life. There is a great big world out there and there are more things to get upset about other than someone not liking your favorite artist. Taste is relative.

Look around you today and think to yourself what are your passions, why do you have them and how much of your time and energy is worth  investing in them today.

Live your life with purpose today

Push the envelope, think outside the box, bring your creativity to the extreme for this portion.

Novice expectations -  Real Housewives of Atlanta Alter Ego inspired look. You don't have to recreate a look from the show. I want your alter ego. Show us another side of you or something that you would never do. This portion of the contest the focus is on make up but if you want to do hair it will be to your benefit.

20 sec intro - Has been changed to 2 minute intro which I will later edit down to 20 seconds I hate long intro's to vids but 20 seconds is not enough time to judge the quality of your work. I made my earlier video about the murder of Derrion Albert  and the lack of respect for life that our children now have. I was too emotional at that time to make a posting at the time of the video but I must address this issue now.

Now I title most of my things to black people and that's mainly because I am black but this is a problem that crosses all the color lines. You can tell by the abundance of videos on youtube, myspace and facebook that we have a serious problem with respect and boundaries with our kids.

People always tell me that the parents can only do so much I try to understand this but I have a feeling that as a parent you should go above and beyond for what you created. Parents have to stop throwing their hands up and giving up ono what they made.

I understand that far too many mothers especially mothers of color are raising children alone trying to work and support them and it can get frustrating but these are things that you should think about before having unprotected sex with folks you aren't sure are going to be around. Once a life has been created it is your responsibility to do all you can to nurture and direct that childs path. Stop excusing bad behavior or saying that's just the way they are and there is nothing you can do about it.

Men you need to stop dropping seed here there and everywhere and not cultivating what is a product of you. Just like a farmer who plants a crop must go out every day. He must weed it cultivate it water it fertilize it to produce something useful for society. So should you be doing the exact same thing with your kids. The farmer doesn't just throw the seeds in the ground and hope for the best he does all he can to make sure that crop will be a success. The farmer works long hours and toils hard most times dawn to dusk and this too should be the attitude of parents.

If you truly love your children you will go above and beyond and do all you can to insure they become productive successful members of societies.

Just like the young lady disrespecting the other young lady in this video if you don't teach your kids manners at home someone might teach them some in the streets. Everyone doesn't love your kids as much as you do they come up on the wrong person you might be getting a knock on the door from the police telling you where to claim your child's body.

Basic Human Rights should be our priority

Above is the video I did for TheXDExperience he asked me to talk about my feelings on gay marriage. Like I stated in the video I think that they should have the right to marry but to me too much money, time and energy is being put into marriage when peoples basic human rights are being neglected.

I want to live in a world of true acceptance not just tolerance. To be tolerated is not the same as being equal and sharing in the full benefits of the world.

Just like people of color being tolerated during the civil rights era would not stand for being half citizens people in the LBGT community must not accept small things. The only thing I am willing to accept is full acceptance under the law.

There is a bigger issue at stake here this is so much larger than marriage it is about people deciding that your life is not equal to or valid because of your sexuality. Getting married will not change this ignorance and attitude only education and fighting for your basic human right to be who you are can.
